This
year we are preparing for the major refurbishment of our magnificent
old building.
To mark this special occasion we are also updating our equally old,
if slightly less magnificent web site. Yes, the quaint old blue,
red and yellow pages are going, soon to be replaced by shiny new
ones with all manor of snazzy new doohickeys, whatnots and thingamambobs
to enhance your browsing pleasure.
You will still find the same irreverent (and sometimes irrelevant)
ramblings, only now they'll be wrapped up in a glitzy new package
full of wonderfully webtastic, widget fuelled wizardry... WWWatch
this space!
For the past five or so years that this site has been on-line, we've
posted a 'History Page' that was, to be brutaly frank, not terribly
'Historical'. The original page was published based on material
that was available at the time, and not on any dedicated research.
This lead to misunderstandings (which were, to be fair to us,
backed up by other sources) and other fundamental errors.
With the launch of the new site (due any day now, with a bit of luck
and a following wind!) we aim to correct these mistakes, and
back up our new history page with verified sources and hard evidence.
This desire to "Get it Right" is what has been taking the time
to get the new design out there, along with other, more technical
issues we've faced.
We would like to publicly state here that the majority of the details
given on the History page are basically inaccurate. These details
are mirrored on Wikipedia (one of our original sources), and
therefor these details are also wrong. We would like to appologise
for any inconvenience or distress caused by the publishing of
these details, and to thank the many people that have assisted
in the researching of the real and true history of what is a
marvelous and fascinating old building.
Particular thanks must go to:
The research into the history of The Radnorshire Arms will be an
ongoing affair, as there are still things which we don't know,
and feel are important enough to warrant further research. We
will, of course, keep you updated on these developments.
